Charlotte Hornets point guard Jeremy Lin is probably one of the most divisive players in the league. The NBA playoffs 2016 has just started, and already the point guard, universally known as Linsanity, is again warding off free agency rumors.

Over the summer, Jeremy Lin signed a two-year contract with the Hornets for about $2 million a year. The contract was a pittance compared to his $25-million contract with the Rockets in 2012.

In an article by The New York Times, the point guard was again asked if he will opt out of the two-year contract with the Hornets to sign with other teams. Jeremy Lin remained mum, saying that it would be rude to the organization that is fighting for survival in the NBA Playoffs 2016.

According to NY Times, if indeed the point guard will opt out of his contract, several teams that would come calling. There is the Brooklyn Nets, particularly with the naming of Kenny Atkinson as the head coach. Atkinson and Lin have a history together, as he was the assistant with the New York Knicks back in the Linsanity days.

While the Charlotte Hornets are behind the Miami Heat in the first round of NBA Playoffs 2016, Jeremy Lin is already grateful that the team made it this far, despite all the challenges they encountered in the regular season. Linsanity made his feelings known via a Facebook post.

"Thank you Jesus, my teammates/coaches and the best fans for an amazing season!!! No one thought we would make it this far, but we're here so we might as well keep going lol #BuzzCity #playoffs2016 #Godsperfectplan," he wrote.

To be fair, Jeremy Lin has always kept his peace even amid all the noise surrounding him. Even during his rumored tiff with Carmelo Anthony in New York, or coach Byron Scott during his Los Angeles Lakers stint, Lin never spoke out against anybody and just focused on his play.
