The Portland Trail Blazers will be attempting to claim their fourth victory in the Western Conference First Round Playoffs best-of-seven series when they face the injury-plagued Los Angeles Clippers at the Moda Center on Friday evening for the climatic Game 6.

The Trail Blazers lead the series with a favorable 3-2 advantage and are in a position to finish off the opening-round with another win at home. If the Trail Blazers advance to the next stage, they will have a Western Conference semifinal showdown against the defending NBA champions Golden State Warriors, who ousted the Houston Rockets 4 games to 1 even without Stephen Curry.

"We've got a unique opportunity to play an elimination game at home, and now we want to make sure we take full advantage of it," Portland's starting guard C.J. McCollum, who is currently averaging 19.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in the first five games of the postseason, said.

Portland's hotshot Damian Lillard, who exploded with 16 points in the fourth quarter of their 108-98 Game 5 victory, is expected to lead his team in taking the sixth game of the series and avoid returning to Los Angeles on Sunday for a decider Game 7.

The fourth seeded Clippers are on the brink of elimination and are presently dealing with untimely injuries of the team's key players. Starting forward Blake Griffin re-aggravated a quad injury and ace point guard Chris Paul broke a bone on his right hand.

According to official website of the NBA, the Clippers have already been in the same situation before. They were down 3-2 against the San Antonio Spurs last season, but they managed to win two straight games and claimed the series.

"We still believe we can win this series," Clippers' guard Austin Rivers, who filled in the spot of Chris Paul in the team's starting lineup, said. "We did it last year versus the Spurs. We were down 3-2 in San Antonio when everybody thought we were out, and we found a way to win."
