(Photo : Andrew Burton/Getty Images) Microsoft Corporate Vice President Panos Panay introduces a new tablet titled the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 at a media event for new Microsoft products on Oct. 6, 2015 in New York City.

If the latest Microsoft Surface Pro 5 rumors are to be believed, there is a possibility that the highly-anticipated tablet will make its debut as early as June of this year.

According to CNet, the device's roll out may coincide with the release of Apple's latest MacBook Pro at its Worldwide Developers' Conference on June 13.

However, this may be a calculated prediction, as six out of ten Surface-branded products have so far been released in the month of October.

Both the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book were announced and released in October 2015, although the original Surface Pro came out in February, while the Surface Pro 3 found its way to store shelves in June.

In light of the latest Microsoft Surface Pro 5 rumors, the biggest issue that may affect its eventual release has reportedly been Microsoft's decision push back a major Windows 10 update to early 2017.

ZDNet's Microsoft guru Mary Jo Foley theorized that the delay in the OS update could be due to the company's desire to show off new devices that would show off the latest Windows capabilities.

If this analysis turns out to be accurate, it could mean that Microsoft's wants its "in-house" hardware to be the "concept car" product for the operating system upgrade.

So, what can Microsoft fans expect based on the other Microsoft Surface Pro 5 models?

As the Surface Pro 4 already has the "greatest" sixth generation Skylake Intel processor, its successor, the "Kaby Lake" chip may not be used on the Surface Pro 5 until late 2016 at the latest.

There are also talks that the latest iteration of the Surface Pro may finally include the keyboard cover, which has been traditionally sold as a separate accessory.

Patently Mobile likewise reported that Microsoft had filed a patent application for a rechargeable Surface Pen and dock, wherein the pen's triple A or button cell battery would be replaced by a rechargeable battery.
