To all iPhone users out there. How safe are your photos on iCloud?

A massive photo hack last week posted online nude images and videos of U.S. celebrities taken from their iCloud accounts.

Tech experts said the "Find My iPhone" feature allowed the hacker or hackers to get hold of the risqué images.

The leaked nude photos involved 101 female celebrities. Rumors indicate that more hacked nude photos of American actresses and celebs will be released by a 4chan user over the weekend.

The hackers will be release the photos to media and select websites in exchange for money.

Photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco and many more were released last week on the internet. Apple and the FBI are reportedly working together to solve this case.

So what's the story behind the bug in iCloud?

Engadget noted that the "Find my iPhone" service doesn't use physical protection, which means anyone can hack into an account by trying different passwords until they guess the right one.

It added that once a hacker has control of a person's Apple ID, it's really easy for a hacker to look at the person's inbox or address book.

Hackers can then lay their hands on other addresses and details. They repeat this process over and over again.

The iCloud bug has now been patched but it's already too late since hackers already released online many of the lewd photos.

Apple also released a statement about what it's doing to deal with the massive photo hacking.

Spokeswoman Natalie Kerris said they're currently looking into any potential security breach caused the hacking.

"We take user privacy very seriously and are actively investigating this report."
