Latest NBA rumors are out that the Los Angeles Lakers are ready to offer their top-three pick in the 2016 NBA Draft this June for the services of Indiana Pacers main man Paul George.

Bleacher Report cited the Ringer's Bill Simmons as the source of the rumor as the NBA analyst posted in his social media account that he heard "the Lakers want to make a BIG run at Paul George with their top-3 pick plus other stuff" in the coming offseason.

The Lakers have been targeting this summer as the crucial phase of their rebuilding project and it was said that they are not planning to do it via the traditional route, which is the NBA draft.

A multi-awarded franchise like LA is more inclined of getting better much faster and it is more likely that they will go through acquiring free-agents or pulling off mega-trades.

Trading for the 6-foot-9 George is one of the numerous Lakers rumors circulating around the league right now and it is not surprising since the three-time All-Star is from California and he is a vocal Kobe Bryant fan ever since, which means that there is a high probability that he would desire a homecoming and playing for the team of his idol as well.

Meanwhile, The Big Lead reported that Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak just "laughed off" the rumors about their coming top draft pick being traded.

The report noted, though, that Kupchak "chuckling at a rumor doesn't mean he's opposed to making a move" and so anything can still happen from now to the day of the draft.

"I'm superstitious enough that I'm not going to look to do something or take something for granted before we have it," Kupchak told Lakers Nation's Serena Winters during an interview.

George is one of the best, if not the best, two-way players in the league right now and the Lakers could surely go back to their title-contending form with him and the young core of Jordan Clarkson, D'Angelo Russell, and Julius Randle next season.

However, it seems like the Pacers will demand one or two of the said young players plus the top-three pick if they should let go of their number one player.
