Startup network provider Republic Wireless has announced that it will soon offer a wider range of handset options. The changes will roll out in July. Among the smartphones to be added to Republic's lineup are popular Samsung devices like the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

In a statement, Republic Wires chief executive officer David Morken said, "Customers were loud and proud to tell us they didn't want to settle when it came to handsets or network choice. Going forward, we will be among the first to get flagship Android phones as they're introduced."

Republic Wireless said that seven new Android phones will be added to its lineup by July. According to The Verge, these devices are the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Moto X Pure Edition, Galaxy S6, and the Galaxy J3.

The company revealed that it will also give its customers a choice to add cellular roaming whenever Wi-Fi signal is unavailable.

Republic Wireless operates its network through a collection of Wi-Fi hotspots and traditional cellular networks. Through this array of networks, Republic Wireless is able to deliver voice and data services to its users at a much lower price point compared to monthly plans offered by larger telecom companies.

The company was launched in 2011 and currently only supports two budget devices, both from Motorola. The company also has only one roaming partner, Sprint. These limitations meant that customers had to sacrifice on getting their hands on some of the latest devices available in the market. Another thing is that customers are also restricted to use Sprint cellular network in case no Wi-Fi hotspot is available in the area.

Despite the limitations of its service, Republic Wireless was able to snag thousands of customers who are willing to accept those limitations in exchange for very affordable fees. Republic Wireless' services start at $10 per month.

Besides the new supported phones in its lineup, Republic Wireless is also planning to launch device financing for the first time. Details about this have not been released yet, but Morken said that the plan will start at $20 and will offer unlimited talk and text with 1GB of cellular data.
