Note application Evernote has announced that it is releasing an update to add one of the most requested features from users, Google Drive. Evernote teamed up with Google to successful integrate the feature.

The new feature is still in its beta testing phase. Users who want to test it will have to use an Android platform or Google Chrome app to activate it. Both Evernote and Google are yet to confirm whether the integration will be rolled out to other operating systems or platforms.

To activate this feature, users have to select the "Switch to beta" option located on the upper right corner of the app. Once the feature is activated, the Google Drive icon will be displayed on the toolbar every time users try to edit a note.

Selecting the Google Drive option will give users a full list of their files that are currently stored in Drive. There is also a search and filter option to limit the results.

Once a specific file is inserted, Google Drive files will be displayed in tiles just below the body of the note. If the files are inserted in the middle of a line of text, they will be displayed as hyperlinks rather than thumbnails. Each of these tiles or hyperlinks are clickable, and once selected will divert users to the respective document or file in Google Drive or Google Docs.

The new and improved integration of Google Drive with Evernote has been well received by both users and tech analysts.

In a statement, Evernote chief executive officer Chris O'Neill said, "Once people see how well Evernote and Google Drive work together, they'll use both products intuitively."
