China's women's basketball team has registered their second consecutive victory in the ongoing 2016 Four-Nation Women's Basketball Tournament after an impressive 71-54 triumph against the Czech Republic in Hengyang, China on Sunday.

According to China.org, compared with the team's lopsided 60-point triumph over New Zealand on the first day of the tournament on Saturday, the host team made one change in their first-five, as the 6-feet-5 inches center Sun Mengran started for the Chinese national team.

The 23-year-old was aggressive in the offensive end, scoring eight points with her six points coming from two 3-pointers, which earned China a 12-3 squirt that forced the visiting team to call a timeout. The Asian powerhouse led by 20-13 as the opening quarter ran out.

Sun Mengran finished the game with a team-high 13 points while teammate Chen Nan added 10 points and six boards.

"We play a better defense than they do and make them take some tough shots. If we can improve 10 percent, I think we would have a very nice game," said China's head coach Thomas Maher.

Forward Lu Wen's split charity shot from the foul line gave China a double-digit lead midway through the second quarter of the game. China dominated the boards 25-20 and went 14 from 29 from the field to close the first half with a 13-point lead 35-22.

On the other hand, Czech's Julia Reisingerova scored a game-high 15 points for her team, while teammates Alena Hanusova and Tereza Vyoralova had 12 points and 11 points respectively.

"I feel a little disappointed about the loss, but our players did not surrender throughout the game. I'm satisfied with that," said Czech Republic's head coach Ivan Benes.

China will face Montenegro next Monday.
