After just one year of marriage, Amber Heard is giving up on her marriage with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales actor Johnny Depp. The gorgeous actress filed for divorce just two days after Depp's mom passed away on May 20.

E! News reported that Heard and Depp are headed to splitsville and confirmed that Heard filed divorce papers on Monday. The reason? The ever-so-popular among Hollywood celebrities--irreconcilable differences.

Unfortunately, they had no prenuptial agreement, which means the divorce would become more complicated, especially since Heard is reportedly asking for spousal support, which Depp does not want to provide.

According to a response made through his attorney, Laura Wasser, Depp is reportedly asking the judge handling their divorce proceedings to deny Heard's request for spousal support.

The official date when Heard filed the divorce is on May 22, just two days after Depp's mom, Betty Sue Palmer, passed away.

The 52-year-old actor seems to have seen the divorce as a "long time coming," as in the past few days, he showed no signs of distress and has been seen out and about with his band Hollywood Vampires. He is also promoting his fantasy adventure film, Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Many fans are heartbroken by the news, as just back in November, although plagued with divorce rumors, the Magic Mike XXL actress slammed rumors that they were experiencing marriage problems.

"I try not to react to the horrible misrepresentation of our lives, but it is strange and hard," Heard told Marie Claire. 

Moreover, in the early part of this year, Depp was awarded at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and even thanked his wife, Heard, during his acceptance speech.

"I also have to thank my wife, Amber, for putting up with me. For living with all these characters, which can't be easy. It's hard for me, it's gotta be hard for her," he said.
