Dwayne Johnson, whose character of DSS Agent Luke Hobbs was first introduced in the fifth installment of the action-packed Fast and Furious franchise, has taken to social media to share his character's intense new look from the upcoming Fast 8.

"When you strip a man of all he has. All that's important to him. You force him to return to his roots.. and sometimes that's a very dangerous and twisted place," Johnson wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of himself rocking a long goatee and a leather vest.

"If I was going to return for another Fast & Furious I wanted to come in and disrupt the franchise in a cool way that got fans fired up and their blood pumping to see a new version of Hobbs and his 'Daddy's gotta go to work' mentality and set the table in a cool way for where the character goes in the future," he continued.

Johnson also hinted at the possibility of a spin-off for Hobbs or more Fast and Furious films in the future.

"Maybe it's a spinoff movie. Maybe it's more #FF movies. Or hell maybe Hobbs just gets on his motorcycle and rides off into the sunset never to be seen again," he added. "You guys around the world will really dig this new version of the role, 'cause as we always say, disrupters dent the universe."

Fast 8, directed by F. Gary Gray, also stars original castmembers, including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, and Elsa Pataky. Jason Statham, Kurt Russell and Nathalie Emmanuel, who featured in last year's Furious 7, will also return to star alongside newcomers Scott Eastwood and Charlize Theron.

Fast 8 is slated to zoom into theaters on April 14, 2017.
