A Radeon employee has given a glimpse of what is to be expected at the event. The post shows a Lenovo Y27F machine, a 27-inch FreeSync display that supports 1440p resolution with an impressive 144Hz refresh rate, according to WCCFTech. The post also revealed an interesting detail, the specs sheet showed that the "Doom" demo is running on a display powered by the Radeon RX 480, a graphics card that AMD has not officially announced yet.

Right now the recently unveiled Nvidia GTX 1080 is enjoying an unrivaled praise due to its high-end performance and low price point. However, many tech analysts are convinced that AMD's Radeon x80 line of GPUs has the raw power to give the GTX 1080 a run for its money.

Experts speculate that the Radeon x80 graphics card would be sold for around $200 to $250. In terms of performance, although it is not yet certain, the "Doom" demo is already a good starting point for what to expect about the upcoming graphics cards from AMD.

The impending competition between the GTX 1080 and Radeon x80 graphics cards will surely be intense. Nevertheless, experts and market analysts are happy with these type of competition as it pushes the boundary of the market to its limits. Additionally, consumers will be the clear winner in this competition as the quality of GPUs will continue to rise while prices fall.

AMD is scheduled to reveal more details on May 31.
