Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra Dominates With 6.8-Inch Screen; Release Date Revealed

Taiwanese electronic manufacturer Asus has announced that its latest flagship device called the Zenfone 3 Ultra will feature a 6.8-inch screen and Android M.

The new device was presented along with the ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Deluxe at Computex. Unlike the latter smartphones, it has a noticeable difference when it comes to its physical attributes. Its rear camera is square and placed at the left side corner, rather than being round and located at the center, according to CNET.

The 6.8-inch screen Ultra phablet is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor which will deliver a faster performance than the Asus Zenfone 3. The specifications of the device include 802.11ac WiFi, Cat 6 LTE and Quick Charge 3.0 for its battery capacity of 4,600 mAh, according to The Verge.

Furthermore, it has a 1080p LCD and a PixelWorks iris2+ TV as its screen processor that is compatible with 4K playback to produce great movie watching experience. It was also equipped with a 23-megapixel rear camera and has 4GB of RAM.

When it comes to audio quality, the Taiwanese tech giant boasts of a DTS Headphone: X 7.1 surround sound for its two speakers, which was revealed to be the first in the world, Engadget reported.

The device's home button is equipped with fingerprint scanning technology that was initially designed to be placed at the back.

The device will be released in Taiwan, Europe, China and Asia-Pacific market in June. The 324-pixel phablet will be sold for $479, and will be available in pink, silver and gray colors.

At the moment, the company has not indicated whether the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra will be shipped to the US region.
