'Replica' Bottle of Viral "Bottle-Flipping" Video Fetches Over $15,000 on eBay

A plastic water bottle touted as a replica of the viral "bottle-flipping" video managed to fetch a closing bid of more than $15,000 in the online auction platform eBay, according to Reuters.

The video that made rounds over the Internet on Tuesday shows a high school student from North Carolina named Mike Senatore taking part of a school talent show. Senatore was seen walking towards the table with poise and confidence before flipping a partially filled bottle of water into the air. The bottle perfectly landed upright on the table, and the crowd literally went wild.

The video, which gives the true definition of viral internet sensation, has now been viewed a million times and managed to trend its own hashtag #flipheardaroundtheworld.

In an interview with Reuters, Senatore said "I can't lie, it's been an absolutely amazing experience. I'm enjoying my 15 minutes."

According to Reuters, Senatore said the auctioned bottle was not the original piece but one that he has used to flip before, which his friend asked him to autograph. The original bottle has already been thrown away.

Another seller, who is also a friend of Senatore, had another replica bottle signed as its bid now reaches $6,100 as of Friday afternoon.

Senatore revealed that he first discovered the bottle-flipping skill during his chemistry lesson. Then on, he has been planning of doing it on a talent show.

"I actually had the idea for about the whole year - I'm going to flip the bottle at the talent show," he told the Charlotte Observer. "I want to be in the talent show and it's the one thing I can do."
