Users of the digital distribution Steam are excited about the platform's upcoming seasonal sale. The Steam Summer Sale is expected to kick off in less than a month.

Steam developer, Valve has yet to confirm nor deny rumors that the sales will begin on June 23.

The rumors started when a Reddit user using the handle MrFreemanBBQ posted a link that redirects to an image hosting website. The image appears to be a screenshot which contains information about Valve's highly confidential set of updates to be released for the Steam platform. The screenshot description reads, "Event: Summer Sale 2016 discount Approvals."

Although the screenshot was in Russian, the post indicated that this year's Steam Summer Sales will commence on June 23 and will end on July 4.

According to VG24/7, the screenshot may have some tinge of certainty to it since the user is also known for leaking previous Steam sale details and dates. The latest incident is also one of the many leaked details regarding Valve's upcoming events.

The most recent leaked regarding Steam sale happened in December 2015. Several days before the official launch of Steam's Winter Sale, PayPal accidentally posted the start date of the event in one of its promotional materials.

Due to the frequent occurrences of these leaks, some tech analysts speculate that it is part of Valve's marketing plan to build more hype around the event. Some believe that Steam is knowingly leaking this information in order to reach the pulse of the gaming community and monitor its reaction, according to Vine Report.
