Widely considered as the spiritual successor to "Ico," "The Last Guardian" is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated games of the year.  Gaming analysts expect the game to be released before the end of the year.

"The Last Guardian" is Fumito Ueda's first venture into the PlayStation 4 platform. The game's designer and director, Ueda, is known for heading revolutionary projects like "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus" which were released for the PlayStation 2 console.

Ueda revealed some tricks on how to play the game which was first announced in 2016. He said players cannot control Trico, the giant winged creature in the game. Instead, gamers will control the creature's boy partner in directing orders.

"The amount of code is very large compared to AI in conventional games. We've given this creature its own desires, so depending on what action it wants to take, that affects everything, including its animation. Its not like a normal humanoid character," Metro.

"The Last Guardian" will  reportedly  put gamers in the shoes of a small boy who was kidnapped by unknown forces. The boy eventually discovers Trico. The game will pit the boy and Trico across different types of environment and as the game progresses so does the relationship of the two characters. However, according to Digital Trends the main goal of the name remains unclear.
