New York Knicks team president Phil Jackson is expecting incoming head coach Jeff Hornacek to still use the triangle offense during this tenure but that it should be in an "up-tempo style" that the former Phoenix Suns boss is most accustomed to.

The official hiring of Hornacek is expected to be announced within the week as the Knicks prepare for the upcoming free-agency period a month from now. News of the hiring of the former Utah Jazz shooting guard went out as early as May 18 and it has generated a lot of opinions and speculations from fans and pundits alike.

One interesting rumor, though, is that Jackson will allegedly require Hornacek to still use his beloved triangle system and just incorporate it with the former Phoenix bench tactician's "up-tempo style", according to the New York Post.

While all speculations are still rumors until an official announcement is made, television analyst and former NBA head coach Hubie Brown commented that the style Hornacek should follow should be based on the existing talent base he will have in New York.

"Now, it's going to come down to what's the talent base? Can the talent base answer the style of play they want to play?" Brown said.

"Who am I to say they're going to play one way? But he's got a style. He's upbeat. Not only did he have an excellent fast-break game (in Phoenix), they had the secondary breaks. You don't see a lot of that today where in the '70s, '80s and '90s, it was prevalent," the analyst added.

Meanwhile, Fansided reported that team leader Carmelo Anthony is amenable to the fast-paced style of Hornacek, saying that he is "looking forward to that" next season.

"I played against him a couple of times when he was the head coach out there in Phoenix," said Anthony. "Everybody knows he likes to play an up-tempo pace of game, likes to get out in transition, likes to speed the game up a lot. So from that standpoint, I'll definitely be looking forward to that."

"It sets the stage for us to do that," the nine-time All-Star said. "(It's a) new opportunity, something new to play with, something fresh, a clean plate. So hopefully we can build off of this momentum."
