OnePlus has confirmed that its new OnePlus 3 will no longer require an invitation to purchase the device, along with its launch date and other key details.

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is set to unveil its third Android flagship on June 14. OnePlus 3 will also debut at a launch event in a virtual reality environment and the handset will also go on sale for a brief period exclusively in VR, in a multi-use space the company calls “the Loop.”

The company also announced that they will no longer require an invitation to purchase the OnePlus 3. The device will go on sale directly to consumers without requiring buyers to present an invitation.

“The invite system has a special place in our history. When we first started out, our team was incredibly small. We had no idea what the demand of the OnePlus One would look like. We also weren’t fans of flash sales, where there’s a risk of everything selling out immediately, forcing fans to wait indefinitely. To address this, we designed the invite system to give customers a chance to purchase a phone as soon as we had inventory ready," OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei explained in a forum post.

The launch starts at 12:30PM EST in the Loop, and for the first two-and-a-half hours, the 5.5-inch, Snapdragon 820-powered OnePlus 3 will only be on sale to customers in VR. At 3:00PM EST, open sales to all interested buyers will start, and OnePlus has indicated that the invite system is officially gone for good.

OnePlus kicked off its Peer Review Program for which anyone can register and the model will ship to chosen ones between 13 and 20 June.

The third Android handset from OnePlus will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM options, with 32GB and 64GB internal storage respectively. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chip-set and expected to run under Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based Hydrogen OS 2.0 or Oxygen OS 3.0. OnePlus 3 will also feature 5.5-inch 1080p display panel, and a 16MP camera on the rear side and an 8MP front shooter.

The 32GB version will be priced at around $314 and the 64GB handset will cost around $384.
