"The Walking Dead" season 7 star Norman Reedus recently explained why he finds it difficult to talk about the controversial character death last season.

In an interview with TV Line, the actor, who plays the role of Daryl Dixon, said that he and his other cast members are not comfortable talking about the character's demise because it felt so real for them.

"We've a very tight-knit group down there on location in Georgia, and we take it very personally, because we're in it and living it. Every time you see us crying on camera, those are real tears. It's a whole day of living sh*t," he said.

"And when personal things happen to you, you don't wander around telling everybody your personal stuff. So for us, it doesn't feel like just a spoiler, it feels like a moment that really happened. And if there's a death involved, it's kinda weird to talk about it. It's like going to our friend's funeral or going possibly to our funeral! It's not like, 'Hey, how are you? Want a selfie?'" he continued.

Last April, "The Walking Dead" cast member Andrew Lincoln spoke with Comic Book about Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) victim.

According to him, he and his co-stars made a pact to not discuss whatever events took place in the finale episode for season 6.

The actor said that they decided to live up to their promise because the thought of ever saying goodbye to a cast member is never an easy thing to do.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 will return to AMC on Oct. 9.
