The "Game of Thrones" season 6, episode 7, "The Broken Man" spoilers are in.

The good news: The Hound has returned.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the war-weary Sandor Clegane (Rory McCann) has certainly made a comeback, although in a way followers of the fantasy-drama series may not have entirely expected.

In the show's latest episode, the Hound was shown in the midst of a physical and spiritual battle with a sept headed by a philosophical ex-warrior, Brother Ray (Ian McShane).

"Violence is a disease, you don't cure a disease by spreading it to more people," Ray told The Hound, in which the later replied, "You don't cure it by dying either."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Game of Thrones" co-executive producer Bryan Cogman dished out some season 6 spoilers, particularly his thoughts on episode 7, "The Broken Man," which featured Sandor's return.

Cogman described the latest episode as a "beautiful three-play act."

"Very much on purpose it tonally doesn't really feel like 'Game of Thrones' until the end when everyone gets slaughtered," he explained. "Ian McShane is a New Age ex-warrior with a painful history of violence, and he's found his own flock trying to rebuild their lives."

"He sees Sandor as a candidate," Cogman continued. "He recognizes in Sandor a bit of himself."

"The Hound, apart from being grateful, starts to open up to him," he added. "He's (Ray) the first and only friend he's ever friend in his life."

Cogman seemed to have a soft spot for The Hound whose re-appearance in the show was more than justified.

Asked by EW if the series' showrunners, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, considered putting an end to the McCann's character, the producer had a definite answer.

"He was always going to come back, it was just a matter of how," Cogman said, giving "Game of Thrones" fans a clearer picture of what to expect in the upcoming season 6 episodes.
