Sep. 17 marks the one-year anniversary for Grand Theft Auto V, but GTA enthusiasts are already anticipating word on any information about a Grand Theft Auto 6. Rumors have been circulating through multiple media outlets that describes a possible 2017 release date, as well as speculation of which city the game will be based in.

According to President of Rockstar North (a subsidiary of Rockstar Games), Leslie Benzies, Rockstar is indeed already planning on making a GTA 6. 

In an interview, Benzies states Rockstar has about 45 years worth of ideas they want to implement in the next game, but don't quite know which direction they want to take yet, as Rockstar's obviously still in the pre-existing stage.

Rumors are surfacing from multiple media outlets and credible YouTube gamers including "Nought Point Four LIVE" that a 2017 release date makes the most sense. 2017 would mark the 20^th year anniversary for GTA, and would give Rockstar three whole years to produce the game if they began soon.

Benzies also mentioned a concept of implementing one huge world that contains all of GTA's previous cities while letting the player fly between them visiting their favorite areas. Although that concept is very unlikely to be used in GTA 6, Benzie then stated, "In that context re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting."

This statement along with other information has sparked numerous rumors about GTA 6 returning to Miami.

However, according to DJ Whoo Kid - an artist with songs that were used in GTA games - said in an interview with Baller Status a rumor that suggests GTA 6 will be based in New York City again, claiming the game will be coming back to Liberty City.

Nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet, but if rumors and speculation are correct, you can expect a Grand Theft Auto 6 to be released sometime in 2017 as a 20-year anniversary, and also expect the game to be based in either New York City or Miami.
