The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has its sights trained on female pitcher Mo'ne Davis, as they reprimand her again for a two-minute phone call.

Davis is an exceptional baseball pitcher. She has earned success against male teams at the Little League World Series. She is also the first female pitcher to play a complete game against a male team and come out with a victory.

While she has cemented a certain celebrity status in baseball, Davis has expressed her interest in possibly playing basketball for University of Connecticut's (UConn) women's basketball coach, Geno Auriemma.

A colleague of Auriemma let him know of how big of a fan Davis was of the reputable coach and his team.

Without any prior knowledge of Davis, any inkling of her basketball skills, and without any future plans to draft her to the team, Auriemma and his colleague thought it would be a good idea to phone her up and offer some words of praise and support for the future.

Initially, the UConn compliance office had agreed to sending a message via the Little League.

Auriemma called Davis and spoke for about two minutes.

Afterwards, they slapped on a secondary violation. While Davis is too young for the NCAA's rules, they viewed her as a special case since her amassed success and fame could make her a potential basketball recruit for UConn.

There was no monetary penalty.

The NCAA has several coaches and administrators who are seeking to curb or eliminate any and all recruiting advantages for future college players.

Currently, the NCAA has created an entire industry of professional compliance directors that schools need to pay in order to assure that players do not receive any money, gifts, or incentives.
