Game Director Ed Boon, who is famous for giving out playful insights and announcements, started posting hints on Twitter regarding the upcoming game.

Boon changed his profile picture to an image showing what appears to be the Roman numeral of number two. It is unclear whether this was intended for a sequel to Mortal Kombat or Injustice.

A leaked poster of Injustice 2 also surfaced online, showing Batman about to battle it out with The Flash, along with a tagline that says, "Every battle defines you."

No information has been revealed about which platforms the video game will be coming to. However, there is a possibility that the game will be ported to the both next-gen consoles. It is said that the studio will reveal more information at the E3 2016, which kicks off in Los Angeles next week.

The game is based on DC universe wherein famous superheroes like Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and The Flash exist.

Injustice: Gods Among Us was released in April 2013 by the same studio and published by Warner Bros. as a fictional fighting game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii gaming platforms, followed by an expansion release of Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition in November 2013.
