Mexico will face Venezuela in the group stages of the ongoing Copa America Centenario 2016 South American football championship. The match is scheduled to be played at the NRG Stadium in Houston, TX on Monday.

Uruguay faces Jamaica in another Group C match on Monday at Levi' Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.

Mexico and Venezuela have already qualified for the Copa America 2016 quarterfinals. Uruguay and Jamaica, two other teams in the group, were eliminated as they failed to win their first two games in group stage.  

Mexico advanced to quarterfinals after beating Jamaica by 2-0 on Thursday. "In general terms, we were superior in front of a great opponent. If that opponent gets in front of anybody, they will score. We are very satisfied," Mexican coach Juan Carlos Osorio said.

Venezuela, on the other hand, registered a surprise 1-0 win over Uruguay, knocking the 15 time Copa America champions out of the tournament.

"I am surprised. The majority of my players did not have a good game. The Uruguay that we are saw today are a long way from the Uruguay we saw play not that long ago," Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez said after the shock defeat.
