Microsoft has announced that the popular Halo 5: Guardians game will not make its way to the PC platform. This revelation has put an end to several rumors in the gaming community that the tech giant is gearing up for a PC release of the latest Halo title.

In October 2015, Halo franchise director at 343 Industries Franc O'Connor hinted that Halo 5: Guardians has a huge possibility of making it on the PC platform. O'Connor made the statement during the Xbox One launch of the game.

In a recent statement sent to PC Gamer, O'Connor said, "Our approach is to deliver epic Halo experiences designed for PC gamers and Windows 10, such as Halo Wars 2 and the recently announced Halo 5: Forge. There are no plans to port Halo 5: Guardians to PC."

Prior to the recent news about Halo 5: Guardians not making it to the PC platform, a user from NeoGAF cited several sources claiming that the game is well on its way to the PC. The user named Enter the Dragon Punch was said to be a trusted source, based on previous leaks shared by the user.

Aside from news about Halo 5: Guardians, Enter the Dragon Punch also started a rumor claiming that developer Bethesda is planning to debut a remastered version of Skyrim at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.

Aside from upcoming games expected to be launched on the PC platform, there are also talks that Microsoft will unveil a new slim version of the Xbox One console at this year's E3.
