Powerhouse squad Jiangsu Suning FC (7-1-5, 26 points) will try to get back to their winning ways as they meet lowly team Chongqing Lifan FC (2-5-6, 12 points) in a 2016 Chinese Super League match to be held at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre on Sunday, June 19.

Jiangsu is on a downward spiral as of late after starting the season on a tear by winning six of their first eight games and going unbeaten during the same period at the same time. The team had been winless in four of their last five China top flight fixtures, which dropped them to the third spot of the league table after temporarily being the league leaders.

Their recent struggles have resulted in the sacking of Romanian manager and former Chelsea star Dan Petrescu as head coach. He was replaced by interim manager Tang Jing, who is now overseeing the squad during games.

In their most recent assignment, Jiangsu was held to a 1-1 draw by middling team Guangzhou R&F FC also at their home ground of Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre on Wednesday, as per Xinhuanet.

Both teams struggled to find their offensive groove in the contest until Blue Lions import Apostolos Giannou broke the deadlock at the 75th minute. It was quickly equalized by Jiangsu's Alex Teixeira four minutes later, though.

Meanwhile, Chongqing Lifan is in even deeper rut as they had been winless in 11 of their last 12 games, putting them in the 11th spot of the league table by virtue of collecting a total of six drawn matches.

Chongqing managed to snap their 11-game winless slide in the last round by nipping bottom two squad Hangzhou Greentown, 1-0, at the Chongqing Olympic Sports Center also on Wednesday, via Soccerway.

Midfielder Ding Jie scored the winning goal for manager Chang Woe-ryong's side to notch their first victory since their opening day win over defending champs Guangzhou Evergrande.

The predicted result is a 2-0 win for Jiangsu Suning.
