Rumors are swirling that Meizu will be launching its upcoming smartphone, the Meizu MX6, in China next month.

Meizu has already rolled out a couple of smartphones this year, including the Meizu M3, M3S, M3 Note and the flagship Meizu PRO 6, all of which it unveiled in April.

The Meizu PRO 6's announcement took many by surprise given that the company launched the PRO 5 in September 2015. In fact, many expected Meizu to unveil the MX6 and have since been waiting for the phone's launch.

There was some speculation last month that the MX6 would be introduced on June 20, which obviously turned out to be nothing more than conjecture since the smartphone has not yet been announced. There's a new rumor doing the rounds that Meizu will unveil the MX6 on July 19 in China.

Apart from the launch date, no other details have surfaced but whether the news is just baseless gossip or an actual fact, I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.

What we do know about the MX6 so far is that the device is expected to feature a metal body along with a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, like its predecessor.

The smartphone will reportedly be powered by a MediaTek's Helio X20 64-bit deca-core processor and will be available for purchase in two variants; 3GB RAM Models with 32 GB of internal storage and 4GB RAM models with 64 GB of storage.

The MX6 also includes a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and will come installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

If rumor mills are anything to go by, the phone might also include a pressure sensitive display, a feature we saw in the PRO 6, and will be priced at 1,799 Yuan ($274), according to leaked information.
