Vivo X7 and X7 Plus Officially Launched With Snapdragon 652 and 4GB of RAM, but Lollipop OS

The Vivo X7 and X7 Plus smartphones have been officially launched in China with the Snapdragon 652 chipset and 4 GB of RAM, but with the Android Lollipop operating system. Both share many components but with few differences.

Both dual-SIM smartphones are powered by the same octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 chipset clocked at a speed of 1.8 GHz. The Vivo X7 and X7 Plus both have a 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 256 GB via a microSD card. They both run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with the latest FunTouch UI 2.5.1 and Adreno 510 GPU. The two devices feature full high-definition Super AMOLED displays. They also come with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie and video chat enthusiasts with a lens aperture of f/2.0.

The rear cameras of both smartphones come with an LED flash and phase detection autofocus. The connectivity options of the Vivo X7 and X7 Plus include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi ac, a GPS receiver, 4G, and Cat.7 LTE. The physical home buttons on the front of the two smartphones also acts as a fingerprint scanners. The screen displays come with a 2.5D curved glass. Both devices are available in rose gold and gold color.

According to GSM Arena, there are some differences that make X7 and X7 Plus unique. The X7 has a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 424ppi. It also has a 13-megapixel camera at the back with an aperture of f/2.2. It is packed with a 3000 mAh battery in a fast charging support. Its dimensions are 147.3 x 71.8 x 7.2 mm with a weight of 151 grams. It will be available to purchase on July 7 with the price tag of 2498 yuan ($375 or Rs. 25,400).

On the other hand, the X7 Plus has a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 386ppi, making it a phablet. It also has a 16-megapixel camera at the back with Sony IMX298 sensor. It is packed with a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging support. Its dimensions are bigger 158.9 x 78 x 7.5 mm with a weight of 183.5 grams, which is heavier than X7. It will go on sale on July 15, which is eight days later than the release date of the X7. The price of the X7 Plus is yet to be announced.

There is still no information about whether the X7 and X7 Plus will be launched in other markets outside China. Both smartphones will surely face tough competition from Xiaomi Mi5, OPPO F1 Plus, and OnePlus 3 if they are introduced in India, BGR reported.
