Powerhouse squad Shanghai SIPG FC (7-3-6, 27 points) will look to build a new winning run as they face contending team Henan Jianye FC (7-5-4, 25 points) in a 2016 Chinese Super League season match at the Shanghai Stadium on Sunday, July 10.

After a five-game winless spell, Shanghai SIPG finally pulled off a win as they blanked reeling contenders Hebei China Fortune FC, 2-0, on the road at the Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center Stadium last Sunday, Shanghai Daily reported.

The game was scoreless for the first 69 minutes until Brazilian striker Elkeson broke the deadlock with a goal off a pass from local forward Yu Hai. SIPG then sealed the victory with another goal at the 87th minute, this time by local striker Wu Lei with Elkeson providing the assist.

It was the first win for head coach Sven-Göran Eriksson's boys since their 1-0 home nipping of Hangzhou Greentown back in May.

With the win, the Massive is now settled at the fourth spot of the China top flight table, only three points behind the third-placed Samba Kings, who currently has the third and final Champions League berth for next season.

Meanwhile, Henan Jianye snapped the five-game unbeaten streak of new Beijing Guoan head coach Xie Feng as they nipped the Imperial Guards, 1-0, at their home ground of Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium last Saturday, as per Soccerway.

Henan central midfielder Feng Zhuoyi provided the lone goal for manager Jia Xiuquan's side right at the stroke of full time from a cross by Australian import Ryan McGowan to snatch the three points away from the capital city squad.

The Red Devils are presently at sixth place in the overall standings, tied on points with fifth-placed club Shanghai Shenhua but have a lower goal difference of +2 as compared to the former's +12.

The predicted result is a 3-1 rout for Shanghai SIPG.
