A couple of shared photos reveal that the CyanogenMod for the UMI Super will be based on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, according to GizmoChina. The CyanogenMod team has promised to share details about this development within the days to come.

CyanogenMod, sometimes referred simply as CM, is an Android-based open-source operating system for the mobile platform. CyanogenMod versions offer new options that are not part of the official Android firmware, a feature that has made the platform appealing.

The UMI Super was released in June. Although UMI is a fairly new player in the already crowded smartphone market, the Super has made some pretty interesting waves in the community.

The UMI Super has a 5.5-inch display with 1080x1920 resolution, according to Phone Arena. The display uses Sharp's Sunlight technology which further improves outdoor visibility even under direct sunlight.

At the heart of the UMI Super is the Helio P10 chipset from MediaTek. It has 4GB of memory and 32GB of internal storage space which can be expanded via a microSD card. It has a 4,000mAh battery pack which supports MediaTek Pump Express quick charging technology.

The UMI Super has a 13-megapixel rear facing camera from Panasonic. The camera sensor has features like exposure control, post-shoot focus adjustment, tracking auto-focus and bokeh.
