Henan Shendian Laojiu Beats Luoyang in 20th Round of Chinese National Basketball League

Henan Shendian Laojiu extended their winning run after coming out on top of Luoyang with a 117-109 victory in the 21st round of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) on Friday evening in Henan.

With the win, the host team has improved to a 15-6 win-loss record and extended their winning streak to an impressive eight consecutive games in a row. Henan now sits on the third place of the 14-club team standings - four games behind league leaders Shaanxi and Anhui.

According to Asia-Basket, Henan's foreign basketball reinforcements scored a combined 64 points with both imports scoring 32 points each. Former NBA player Earl Clark pulled down game-high 24 rebounds while the University of Memphis product Darius Washington posted eight boards with five assists for the team.

Chinese player YuXing Yang had 21 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists, while Yuhan Chen and Qingfei Min chipped in a combined 25 points for the winners. Henan will be facing the league's worst-performing team Nanjin Army in the next round on Sunday.

American basketball reinforcement Josh Powell paced Louyang with team-highs 31 points and 15 rebounds while Joe Jackson contributed 30 points and five boards. Local players ChengLong  Duan and Xiao Xiao In finished the game with 21 points and 10 points, respectively.

According to NowGoal, trailing by two points, Henan staged a 32-23 run in the third quarter to enter the final twelve minutes of the game with a seven-point advantage 88-81. The winners were able to protect their lead and managed to contain Luoyang with a 29-28 charge in the fourth period to claim the victory.
