Anhui Wenyi Wins Guangxi Weizhuang Rhinos in 23rd Round of Chinese National Basketball League

After suffering its third lost of the season against Guizhou Senhang on Sunday, Anhui Wenyi bounced back to winning by smashing the fifth-ranked Gungxi Weizhuang Rhinos with a lopsided 21-point margin 109-88 victory in the 23rd round of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) on Wednesday.

With the win, the WeiDong Hu-headed team improved to a 20-3 win-loss record and remains on the No. 2 spot in the league. Shaanxi Xinda is the current No.1 club in China's minor league with a 21-2 win-loss record.

According to Asia-Basket, former NBA player Chris Singleton led the winning team with a remarkable performance of 41 big points and eight rebounds along with five steals and two blocked shots. The 26-year-old Singleton, who used to play with the Washington Wizards from 2011 to 2014, went 14 for 20 from the field including seven treys from beyond the arc region and shot perfect 6 for 6 from the foul line in 44 minutes of playing.

American swingman Manny Harris finished the game with a double-double production of 13 points and 11 boards while local players YongGang Zhang and Jian Li added 17 points and 14 points respectively for Anhui.

Foreign reinforcement Tony Mitchell led Guangxi with a double-double production of 28 points and 17 rebounds while Chinese players YongGang Zhao and Lei Ji had 23 points and 14 points, respectively.

The Rhinos suffered their tenth defeat of the season in 23 games played. They will face Lhasa in the next round of the league scheduled on Friday.

According to NowGoal, the winning team entered the final 12 minutes of the match with a comfortable 25-point lead 87-62. Anhui continued to control the game in the final period to seal the victory despite a 26-22 run from Guangxi.
