Ater Majok Claims Player of the Week Award in Round 24 of Chinese NBL

Former NBA D-League player Ater Majok of the Beijing Dongfan had a spectacular double-double performance in the 24th round of China's professional minor basketball league, earning him the right to be named Asia-Basket.com NBL Player of the Week.

The 29-year-old South Sudan-born Australian professional basketball player, who played for the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the 2014-2015 season of the NBA D-League, had an outstanding game, pouring in 35 big points and grabbing down 15 boards. Majok led Beijing to victory against Nanjin Army with a 111-106 scoreline on Friday.

Majok has turned out to be the Chinese club's top player with his very imposing stats this season. The 6-foot-10 tall forward-center has led Beijing to a 13-11 win-loss record.

His team currently sits at the eight spot on the league table, alongside Jiangsu Hualan.

According to Asia-Basket, Majok is the NBL's second leading rebounder, having an impressive average of 17.5 boards per game.  The former University of Connecticut Huskies player is the No.1 rim protector in China's minor basketball league registering an average of 4.0 blocked shots per game. He is shooting a steady 60.6 percent from the field this season.

In Beijing's most recent game, Majok posted an amazing 66.7 shooting percentage from the two-point area and had five blocked shots and one steal in 43 minutes of playing against Nanjin.

According to RealGM, Majok signed with the Polish Basketball League side Trefl Sopot in September last year. He registered averages of 9.8 points, 7.0 boards, and 1.8 blocked shots in 25.4 minutes on the hard wood in the 27 official games that he played during the 2015-16 season of the Polish league.
