HTC has announced that the unlocked version of the Desire 350 is now available in the United States for $179.

The Taiwanese smartphone maker unveiled the Desire 530 at the 2016 Mobile World Congress (MWC) event earlier this year. The HTC Desire 530 has been available in other parts of the world for several months except the U.S. The interesting sprinkled design includes a colorful "micro splash" finish.

“The HTC Desire 530 will be available from prepaid and postpaid U.S. wireless providers T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless, in addition to HTC.com. Each will confirm the colors and model availability,” said HTC in a statement.

The HTC Desire 530 is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.1 GHz. The device runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Sense UI. It comes with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage space, which is expandable via a micro SD card slot.

The device features a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, 8MP rear camera, and 5MP front-facing camera for video calling and/or selfies. It also sports a removable li-ion 2200 mAh battery. For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and microUSB v2.0.

HTC said that the Desire 530 would be available in three colors in the U.S. — Sprinkle White, Stratus White or Blue Lagoon. However, the unlocked model on HTC's website is available only in Sprinkle White for $179, according to Android Authority.

Earlier in July, T-Mobile started selling the prepaid variant of the phone for $159.99, Phone Arena reported. Buyers have an option of choosing the 0 percent finance option from T-Mobile by paying $0 upfront and $6.67 per month in 24 installments. Verizon Wireless is also getting ready to launch the HTC Desire.

In addition, the Taiwanese smartphone maker has revealed that the unlocked Desire 530 is compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile, Metro PCS, Alaska Communications, Cricket, Walmart Family Mobile, Straight Talk, and Net 10.
