Floyd Mayweather Ducks Manny Pacquiao Once Again, Calls Negotiations All Lies

Floyd Mayweather Jr. broke his silence to answer the rumors of a possible megafight with Manny Pacquiao, saying all that the Filipino boxer and his promoter said about the ongoing 'negotiation' was nothing but big lies.

The 37-year old Mayweather cleared in an interview with Fight Hype that there's no negotiation ongoing between his camp and Pacquiao's side, contrary to what the Filipino told the Daily Mail about 'serious negotiations' taking place.

"All lies. You know better than that,!" said Mayweather, who will be fighting Argentine brawler Marcos Maidana for the second time on September 14 at MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mayweather, who has captured world championships in five different weight classes, has already made things clear that he's not interested to take on the Filipino slugger unless he agrees to his stipulations.

One of the conditions demanded by the Grand Rapids native was Pacquiao's exit from Top-Rank promotions. However, Pacquiao decided to renew his contract with Bob Arum's stable for two more years, making the showdown with Mayweather all but dead.

Then again, Arum stressed that Pacquiao and Mayweather could still see each other in the ring because of the huge money at the stake in their slugfest. Several analysts believed the fight could generate as much as $225 million in conservative estimates while others projected a fight worth $300-million because of its magnitude.

"Both [TV] networks want this to happen. All signs seem to point to a first fight early next year." Arum told the Mirror in a recent interview. "A second fight in the autumn would provide a different cash split because the winner of the first would claim the higher percentage. As each of them believes he would win, that provides an extra incentive."

Pacquiao, the first and only eight-division world champion, has been challenging Mayweather to settle their score since 2009 but the fight has never taken place, partly because of Money May's myriad of demands.

On November 22, Pacquiao will defend his WBO Welterweight championship against undefeated American and reigning jr. welterweight titlist Christopher Algieri at Venetian Macao in Macau, China.
