Chinese diver He Zi's boyfriend popped the question just minutes after she won the silver medal in the three-meter springboard event at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.

Zi was standing on the Olympics podium after receiving her honor after a splendid performance in the diving competition when her partner, fellow diver Qin Kai, got down on one knee, pulled out a ring and asked her to marry him, according to NPR.

Zi just stood there in disbelief as she covered her mouth with her hands before accepting his proposal. Qin, who himself won a bronze medal in the men's three-meter springboard final last week, placed the ring on her finger and gave her a glass-enclosed rose as the crowd roared with cheer and applause.

"We've been dating for six years, but I didn't expect him to propose today," she said, according to BBC News. "He said a lot of things, made a lot of promises, but I think the thing that touched me the most is I think this is the guy I can trust for the rest of my life."

Zi came in second place after teammate Shi Tingmao bagged gold in the event while Tania Cagnotto from Italy took home the bronze medal.

This isn't the first proposal to take place at the Olympics on Rio. Last Monday, Marjorie Enya, girlfriend of Brazilian rugby player Isadora Cerullo proposed marriage following a rugby match between New Zealand and Australia.
