Chinese tech giant Huawei has launched the newest member of its Y series of smartphones, the Huawei Y6 II. The new device has a bigger screen with higher resolution, as well as several new features that are not offered by its predecessors.

The Huawei Y6 II boasts of a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 resolution. The screen is protected by a GFF transparent lamination making it scratch-proof and also brighter.

According to GSM Arena, the Huawei Y6 II is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset with a 1.5GHz processor and an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit. The device has 2GB of LPDDR3 memory and 16GB of storage space which can be expanded up to 128GB through a microSD slot. The phone has a lot of sensors including an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, compass, G-sensor, and ambient light.

The Huawei Y6 II has a 13-megapixel rear camera with a flash and can record videos in 1080p resolution. It also has an 8-megapixel front facing camera for selfie shots. The main camera supports autofocus, burst mode, HDR, voice capture, smile and face detection, self-timer, and gesture shot.

The Huawei Y6 II has a 3000mAh non-removable battery pack. The battery has an estimated life of 280 hours when in standby mode, 12 hours of talk time, and up to 28 hours of music playback. The phone is available in three colors: black, gold, and white.

The Huawei Y6 II runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a custom Emotion UI 4.1. It supports LTE connectivity, as well as dual-SIM cards. The phone costs $299.99.
