Samsung's new Galaxy Note Phablet comes in two variants: the Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy Note 4.

The Galaxy Note Edge is the first smartphone from Samsung to have a bent display. For those that want to upgrade their devices to a new Galaxy Note variant, here's a comparison between the two editions to ease your decision-making process.

The Galaxy Note Edge is not much different in design. Its rear is the same but slightly more slippery than the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Its front has the same home button, mic, volume placement and power buttons. Both have Samsung's stylus for the Note series, the S Pen.

The Note Edge has a smaller 5.6-inch display compared to the Note 4's 5.7-inch screen.

The Note Edge measures 151.3 x 82.4 mm while the Note 4 measures 153.5 x 78.6 mm. Both have a Super Amoled display but the Note Edge comes with a quad HD+ resolution with 1600 x 2560 pixels screen resolution and 524 ppi pixel count.

The Note 4 has a quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels with 515 ppi pixel density.

Both the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz like the Galaxy S5 but with extra features for the S Pen.

The handwriting recognition of 2014 generation of Samsung devices was better than that of the Galaxy Note 3. There are additional options as well.

Both the Note Edge and Note 4 have a quad-core Snapdragon 805 Krait 450 CPU but there is a little difference in processing speed.

The Note Edge is clocked at 2.5 GHz speed while the Note 4 produces 2.7 GHz speed. Both devices have 3 GB of RAM. The Note 4 comes with only 32 GB internal storage while the Note Edge comes with 16 GB and 32 GB variants.

The external memory of both devices is at 64 GB microSD. The camera technology for both is exactly the same but the Note 4 has a 3220 mAh battery while the Note Edge only has 3000 mAh.
