Bluboo Maya Max to Get Android Nougat Upgrade: Rumor

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Bluboo launched the Maya Max on a limited pre-sale run, and it was a hit. Although the Bluboo Maya Max is slated to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, there are speculations that Bluboo engineers are working on an upgrade that will allow the smartphone run on the upcoming Android Nougat platform.

Google is yet to announce the official version number of Android Nougat, although there are indications that it is version 7.0. Based on previous Android upgrades, Android Nougat is sure to bring new features, functions, and optimizations.

The Android Nougat is expected to support JIT compiler which improves runtime, and also makes the installation of apps much quicker. The Nougat operating system is also expected to support the Vulkan API, a new rendering technology that offers a significant boost in performance which makes it ideal for gaming.

According to Android Headlines, the Bluboo Maya Max smartphone has a 6-inch JDI display. The smartphone has a MediaTek MT6750 chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 3GB of memory and 32GB of storage space. It has a 13-megapixel rear facing main camera, and an 8-megapixel front facing selfie shooter. The phone's case is made of 6000 series aluminum alloy frame. It has a 4200mAh battery pack, and supports 4G+ CAT6 technology.

The Bluboo Maya Max was launched on Aug. 17 in a pre-sale that will run until Aug. 31. The pre-sale price is at $159.99, but once the smartphone hits the market, it would have a price tag of $179.99.
