Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is expected to unveil its highly anticipated device - the Xiaomi Mi 5s smartphone - in China next week. The Chinese company has scheduled an event at the National Convention Centre in Beijing, China for Sept. 27.

Before the event, Xiaomi has released a teaser of an upcoming device on its official website with a big "S." The poster hinted that the device is going to unveiled soon. There are speculations that this upcoming device is the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 5s. This Mi 5s is expected to be a beefed-up version of the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s smartphone will feature a Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at a speed of 2.4GHz. The Mi 5 smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset. The device is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display screen with 95 percent NTSC color gamut and 650 nits of brightness.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s is powered by a quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 821 processor paired with Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. The device will feature a massive 6GB of RAM onboard and a huge 256GB built-in internal memory storage. The smartphone is expected to run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Xiaomi's customized MIUI 8 user interface.

On the camera side, the device is said to have a dual-camera setup at the back panel. New leaks suggest that the device will sport a 16-megapixels rear camera and a 4-megapixels front facing camera.

Other features of the Xiaomi 5s smartphone include a fingerprint scanner, support dual-SIM (Nano+Nano) slots, a home button, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC support, and USB Type-C. The smartphone is said to measure a body dimension of 144.5 x 69.2 x 7.2mm and weigh 147 grams.
