China's Elephone S7 is expected to go basic as the Chinese manufacturer is curently working on the upcoming smartphone's physical buttons.

Several prominent smartphone companies are trying to cut the cost of production and most of them are ditching physical buttons in favor of capacitive buttons on some of their latest models.

The Elephone P9000 sports physical buttons and was widely praised by both users and critics. Elephone is banking in on this positive hype and combined it with the growing popularity of capacitive buttons.

According to Giz China, Elephone recently confirmed that the upcoming Elephone S7 model will sport a physical button with E-Touch 2.0 capabilities.

While the company is still in the process of testing this unique combination of technology, it cannot disclose any details about the plan.

China's Elephone S7 is slated for the upper mid-range smartphone market, as it features a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with a deca-core processor, 4GB of memory, and 64GB of storage space.

It will be donning as well a 5.5-inch bezel-less screen with Full HD resolution.

The bezel-less screen feature makes a lot of sense as many have agreed that it would complement with any capacitive buttons that Elephone decides to add on the device.

When it comes to its operating system, it will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

However, with the looming release of Android 7.0 Nougat, many have been optimistic that Elephone will make proper arrangements so that the S7 will also receive the update.
