Washington Wizards point guard John Wall made his preseason debut on Monday against the New York Knicks. This is Wall's first appearance into the hard court following his successful knee surgery during the league's offseason.

Wall only played during the first half of the game tallying a total of 16 minutes. This led many sports analysts to doubt whether Wall is 100 percent healed. In his 16 minutes of playing time, Wall scored eight points, dished out four assists and grabbed three rebounds.

In a statement after the game, Wall said, "I was just trying to get my legs under me and play in a real game."

When asked about how he would rate his preseason debut, Wall said he would give himself a B.

As an assessment of Wall's performance, Wizards head coach Scott Brooks said he is satisfied with what the point guard showed. This is Brooks' first season with the Wizards.

In May, Wall underwent a surgery to repair his patella tendon in his left knee. He also underwent a separate arthroscopic surgery in his right knee.

The professional basketball player was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. The Wizards picked him from Kentucky. He averaged 19.9 points, 10.2 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game last season, making it the best season of his career. He was also named into the NBA All-Star Game for the third consecutive time.

However, with his knee problems, Wall's playing time and performance during the latter part of the regular season was limited. His performance was greatly affected by the injury and the Wizards failed to make it to the playoffs after reaching it in the past two seasons.
