It would appear that the rumors regarding Goldberg's WWE comeback are true. Goldberg confirmed this via Twitter in what appeared to be a response to the challenge issued by Paul Heyman regarding a possible rematch against Brock Lesnar.

Goldberg's tweet reads, "Booking my flight to answer that big mouth @HeymanHustle 's challenge next week in person on #MondayNightRaw."

Rumors about Goldberg's return to WWE have been circulating for years, and it took on a new life a couple of weeks ago following a report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the 49-year-old wrestler is set to face Lesnar at the upcoming WWE Survivor Series scheduled for Nov. 20.

According to Bleacher Report, the rumors about Goldberg's possible return was later fueled by his inclusion into the roster of "WWE 2K17." In "WWE 2K15," Sting was a downloadable character ahead of the superstar's first-ever match in WWE when he faced Triple H at Wrestlemania 31. Many fans believe that Goldberg's inclusion on "WWE 2K17" hints at his impending comeback.

Following the news, Goldberg appeared on SportsCenter. Shortly after Goldberg's appearance on SportsCenter, Heyman taunted him on Twitter saying that Goldberg should not confuse himself with the video game version of WWE and the reality of Lesnar.

Both Goldberg and Lesnar are featured on the "WWE 2K17" video game. The two superstars had a feud with each other shortly before Goldberg left the WWE back in 2004. Goldberg's final match with the WWE was at WrestleMania XX where he faced Lesnar with Steve Austin as the special guest referee. Goldberg won the match.
