There are rumors that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to clash for the signature of Real Madrid star Isco in January after the Spanish midfielder admitted that a Bernabéu exit is possible soon.

Isco recently disclosed that he will "consider his Real Madrid future" at the end of the current season if he is not given enough playing time by Los Blancos head coach Zinedine Zidane, the Daily Star reported.

The 24-year-old international football star from Spain is said to be "frustrated" about his usage-rate this season as he has only appeared in four of the team's first seven domestic fixtures and all have been coming off the bench.

"If I've still only made a few appearances by the end of the season, I'll look elsewhere," Isco told reporters during a recent interview. "At 24 years of age, I have the right to better myself."

United boss Jose Mourinho and Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino are said to be waiting for Isco's availability as both managers are interested to add him to their respective rosters in midseason, according to the Daily Express.

Mourinho is reportedly planning to make Isco the long-term replacement for United captain Wayne Rooney, who is clearly in the final few years of his long and storied career.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils is lacking in the no. 10 position at the moment as the roster is full of strikers and wingers, which is why Rooney is still the first option behind Zlatan Ibrahimović in Mourinho's 4-2-3-1 formation despite his advancing age.

Pochettino, on the other hand, is rumored to be a long-time fan of the two-time UEFA Champions League winner. Pochettino attempted to acquire him on loan from Madrid in the recent summer transfer window, but the bid was rejected by Los Blancos.

Tottenham is currently in the second spot of the Premier League table and having Isco in the midfield of Pochettino's preferred 4-1-4-1 formation would further boost the Spurs' chances of winning the title this season.
