The Kodak Ektra boasts of a 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 rear--facing camera, according to Engadget. The camera is the centerpiece of the device, and it takes a huge space on the phone's rear side. The camera also protrudes out of the case, which means that Kodak went to great lengths, even sacrificing design, to integrate a high-powered camera on its flagship device.

The back part of the Kodak Ektra features a dark colored, artificial leatherette. At the bottom part is a slightly curved grip and a dedicated shutter button on top. The smartphone, at first glance, looks like the classic mechanical camera that Kodak was once famous for.

At the heart of the Kodak Ektra is a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with a deca-core processor and 3GB of memory. The storage space of the device is 32GB, and it can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The phone has a massive 3000mAh battery pack that supports MediaTek's PumpExpress quick charging technology.

The Kodak Ektra has a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution. The phone is expected to run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. There are rumors that it would be upgraded to the Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Kodak Ektra is expected to be rolled out in December in Europe for $549. Kodak is yet to confirm whether it plans to release the Ektra in the United States or any region outside of Europe.
