Chinese tech company LeEco has already announced its intention to enter the United States market, with plans of releasing the first batch of its products and services in November. As part of this market expansion, LeEco recently revealed that it is also releasing its virtual reality headset into the US market.

Dubbed as the ExploreVR, LeEco's virtual reality solution is akin to that of the Samsung Gear VR setup. The new device from LeEco is device specific and supports Android-based LeEco smartphones.

The company said its virtual reality headset sports "an advanced ergonomic design and state-of-the-art optics." It also comes with a software development kit, which is based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon VR SDK. This indicates that the ecophones will be powered by Snapdragon chipsets as well.

Just like the Samsung Gear VR, the LeEco ExploreVR headset requires users to install the smartphone in the compartment on the front side of the headset, according to Digital Trends. However, unlike the Gear VR that uses the phone's earphone jack to supply sound, the ExploreVR supplies sound using Bluetooth connectivity.

As for its content, LeEco is also establishing its own dedicated marketplace called LeEco VR. The company has yet to confirm what products or services will be available on its platform the moment it is released, but rumors claim that it will include Hulu, Netflix and other video streaming services.

LeEco said it will simultaneously launch its hardware and software services in the US on Nov. 2. It was not disclosed, though, whether the ExploreVR headset will be included in the launch or how much the device will cost.
