There are rumors that the Toronto Raptors could target Milwaukee Bucks center Greg Monroe to boost the team's power forward options this season.

The Raptors' frontcourt has become shallower this season with the departure of Bismack Biyombo to the Orlando Magic and Luis Scola to the Brooklyn Nets during this summer's free-agency.

At the moment, Raptors head coach Dwane Casey only has rookie Pascal Siakam and veteran backup Patrick Patterson at the power forward position which is reportedly not enough to contend with the reigning champions Cleveland Cavaliers if they do meet again in the Eastern Conference Finals in next year.

Hoops Rumors indicated that Toronto has "an obvious need at power forward" and Monroe is "an obvious target."

Philadelphia's Nerlens Noel and Memphis' Zach Randolph were also mentioned as potential targets and any of the three power forwards could potentially "make the Raptors a bigger threat to Cleveland in the East."

Toronto is said to be looking at Monroe as the possible solution to their frontcourt depth issues and the "missing piece to an NBA championship puzzle," according to the Inquisitr. A starting frontline of Jonas Valanciunas and Monroe would give the Cavs a lot of problems in defense.

Monroe has been the subject of many trade rumors since the end of last season when he did not meet expectations in Milwaukee.

Right now, Monroe is reduced to a backup center in the Bucks lineup as he is deemed an outcast in the team's young starting unit composed of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker, John Henson, Tony Snell, and Miles Plumlee.

Some NBA analysts predict that the former Georgetown standout will soon be shopped as the Bucks will eventually see Monroe as an expensive bench player that costs them $17.1 million per season.

When this happens, the Raptors are rumored to be one of the teams prepared to submit an offer for Monroe. Although it is not yet clear which players Toronto would give up to land him.
