The Indiana Pacers are reportedly planning to trade Monta Ellis before this season's trade deadline and the Orlando Magic and Sacramento Kings are two potential destinations for the veteran shooting guard.

Indiana has started the season poorly in losing four of their first seven games with Ellis also struggling with the team. The Pacers' most recent game ended in a 122-100 blowout loss to the Charlotte Hornets at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Monday with the former Lanier High School standout scoring only seven points with two turnovers and five personal fouls.

From scoring 18.9 points per game during his last season in Dallas in 2014-2015, his average dropped to 13.8 a night in his first year with Indiana last season. Right now, seven games into 2016-2017, his scoring average further went down to 9.5 points per game only.

It seems clear that the 11-year pro is bound to a change of scenery to get back to his old, explosively scoring self.

Basketball Insiders' Steve Kyler suggested that "it's time to trade Monta Ellis" but that he is not sure what value the Pacers could get for him with the way he is playing right now.

Kyler said that the Orlando Magic could be interested in trading for the former NBA Most Improved Player awardee as head coach Frank Vogel's squad is in desperate need of a scorer at the moment.

Ellis could definitely regain the number of touches he used to have when he was still playing in Milwaukee and Dallas with Orlando's current roster, which would be a win-win situation for both player and team.

Meanwhile, Sportsrageous indicated that a trade with the Kings could happen in or before February's trade deadline as the Pacers are trying to strengthen their roster to possibly contend with the Cavs in the East.

Ellis, young big man Myles Turner, and a future first-round draft pick will reportedly be sent to Sacramento for DeMarcus Cousins and Ben McLemore, according to latest trade rumors.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Kings are really ready to move on from Cousins or if they would ask for more assets in return should they decide to trade their franchise player this season.
