CBA: Xinjiang Flying Tigers Continue Winning Run, Beats Jiangsu Tongxi Monkey Kings to Stay on Top

(Photo : Getty Images) Andray Blatche scored another double-double performance in the Flying Tigers win over Jiangsu Tongxi.

The red-hot Xinjiang Flying Tigers continued their winning run after slamming Jiangsu Tongxi Monkey Kings with a dominating 119-108 victory in the fifth round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Friday.

The victory was the Flying Tigers's fifth-straight win in a row since the new season started on October 30. It also strengthens Xinjiang's grip to the top of the team standings with a perfect 5-0 win-loss record. They are currently tied with the Shanghai Sharks.

According to EuroBasket, Xinjiang's foreign reinforcements lead the way for the team's victory. Darius Adams netted a team-high 40 points with three rebounds, three assists, and three steals while former Brooklyn Nets player Andray Blatche registered another spectacular double-double performance of 35 points and 10 rebounds along with four steals and three blocked shots for the Flying Tigers.

The two imports have a combined 19 for 31 shooting from the field while connecting eight of their ten attempts from the three-point marker. They only missed six of their 19 free shots from the foul line.

The Flying Tigers will be facing Jiangsu Dragons in the next round on Sunday. The Dragons are currently ranked No. 15 in the league with a record of one win and five losses.

According to NowGoal, the winning team kicked off the opening period with a strong start by staging an early 34-16 run in the first quarter. 

Xinjiang entered the fourth quarter with a 10-point advantage and continuously dominated the game after charging another 25-24 run to seal the victory.

Jiangsu's Zaid Abbas had 40 points and Jared Cunningham added 22 markers, but it was not enough to steal the game from the Flying Tigers.
