The Denver Nuggets have reportedly placed Danilo Gallinari on the trading block and the Miami Heat is rumored to be one of the teams interested in the veteran forward.

Gallinari, 28, has been the subject of several trade rumors since the end of last season. Together with fellow veteran Kenneth Faried, the eight-year pro was said to be shopped by the Nuggets in midseason as the club is undergoing a youth revolution.

The rebuild is said to be centered on the seventh overall selections of the last two years, Emmanuel Mudiay and Jamal Murray, together with the team's two young big men Nikola Jokic and Nusuf Nurkic.

With Jokic and Nurkic around and the rising games of wingmen Wilson Chandler and Will Barton, Denver is rumored to be ready to move on from the veteran duo of Gallinari and Faried.

Bleacher Report indicated that Gallinari is placed by the Nuggets on the trade market as his presence on the court is somewhat hindering the development of both Jokic and Nurkic.

Nuggets head coach Mike Malone has been using Gallinari to space the floor at power forward with either Jokic or Nurkic at the center position. However, this "creates a problem" in that one of the two young centers is being simmered on the bench whenever Gallinari is on the court.

A lot of teams were rumored to have approached Denver for Gallinari's services during the summer, such as the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Miami Heat, but no deals have pushed through.

The Heat has recently re-visited their interest on the Italian small forward as Miami is looking for a possible replacement for Chris Bosh at the power forward spot, as per Fansided.

Heat president Pat Riley disclosed in September that Bosh's career with the club is over and that they are no longer working toward the return of the two-time NBA champion. The 11-time All-Star did not pass a preseason medical in Miami due to his ongoing blood clot issues, and the team did not want to risk his health by giving the go signal to play.

Riley said though that Bosh is free to continue his career for another NBA team if he wants to and if any team would be comfortable with such a risk.

Miami has Luke Babbitt as its starting power forward right now, and Gallinari is viewed as a huge upgrade over the former Nevada standout.
