There are rumors that the Kings could finally trade DeMarcus Cousins in December as Sacramento is planning to take advantage of the All-Star center's high trade value months away from this season's February deadline.

Cousins is the subject of trade rumors since the end of last season after the Kings were eliminated from playoff contention for the 10th consecutive season. Some analysts have suggested that the club should move on from the former Kentucky standout and rebuild if they want to progress.

However, the Kings management, led by team owner Vivek Ranadive and vice-president and general manager Vlade Divac, has insisted that the two-time NBA All-Star is "not going anywhere" and that the club will continue to build around him moving forward.

It should be noted that Cousins has been with Sacramento in his entire six-year career so far and the team has never qualified for the postseason since he was drafted fifth overall in 2010.

Just recently, rumors are out that senior team officials may have changed their minds as they said to have decided to deal their franchise center to interested teams this December while his trade value is still high.

CBS Sports reported that TNT's basketball analyst Shaquille O'Neal, who is a minority owner of the Kings, said last week that Sacramento should "consider a change in direction when it comes to" Cousins and his comments may have had an effect on the latest developments in the trade saga.

Sporting News indicated that "a move (involving Cousins) could come in the first half of December" after rumors swirled among the "front office executives around the league" that the Kings are now ready to part ways with their franchise player.

One anonymous Western Conference GM said that Cousins will be traded in "three months, tops", which would be right before next year's February trade deadline.

The general manager then said that it would more likely be in a "month, month-and-a-half" as the "closer they get to the (February trade) deadline, the less they're going to get back".

It means that Cousins could be out of Sacramento by mid-December at the earliest, although there are no reports yet which teams are talking with the Kings at the moment.
